Xpedious SHOW 2009 SCA $124,000 British Sky Bet Listed Chase SHOW 2009 SCA GI $140,000 Australian Dominant Grand Annual Steeplchase SHOW 2009 GI $475,000 French Gras Savoye Grand Steeplechase 2003 TB Bay Stallion Standing 17.3hh 59 TBHA Points, 270 HF Points, $66,500
Xpedious is a stallion of sheer young experience, vibration, and power. He was bred in Brazil, however shipped to France to compete heavily. Though we came across this fine boy at an old rancher's farm who could no longer care for him, and records are complete, race results have not been verified. (Obviously, NOT within HF records nor recognition!) With delicate research, we have learned that as a three year old, he won the GI Grand Prix de Paris with prize money resting just under $800,000 American Dollars. We also have reason to believe he placed the GI Poule d'Essai des Poulains for three-year-old colts, purse at just over $500,000 USD. Additionally, his two year old season, while completly unverified, seems to have been lacking in quantity yet strong in quality.
Newly homed with us here at TME, and housed mainly in the States, we plan to compete this competitive boy in the Austrailian circuit. We feel with his substance, muscle, attitude, and calmness in stressful situations, the flight won't hinder his performance too severely, and he'll adapt to the Australian competition in stride. While he performs in the Houlahan Championships, approximately from April to July, he will not be up for stud. With him, we hope to create strong influence within the Throughbred circuit, half arab circuit, and warmblood cross atmospheres. Otherwise, in hopes of pushing his very intelligent personality to the utmost extreme, and in order to keep him in shape otherwise, he will be competing in Training level Eventing, hopefully Preliminary eventually.

A Pedigree of a Champion Xpedious training for Eventing.Chapter 1: The Beginning: We have found the gold mind of the stallion world, in our opinion! Xpedious has now joined us here at TME to hopefully become a VERY influential sire both within the Thoroughbred circuits and open Sport Horse circuits. We also have reason to believe he may become a huge influence to the Half-Arab sport horse and the Warmblood crosses! As most great Thoroughbred breeders realize, foundation sires have been preserved negotiabally, and many trace back quickly to what are becoming 'popular' lines within breeding organizations. Nations, countries, circuits, and fields represent stallions bred for their consistency, proven ability, and accessibility. Three Thoroughbred foundation sires include: Godolphin Arabian (maintained by grandson Matchem), Byerly Turk (maintained by Herod, better known as King Herod), and the Darley Arabian (maintained by the undefeated great-grand-son Eclipse). Statistically, and according to Pickrell at Dublin University, Ireland, 95% of today's thoroughbreds trace to one sire alone. Nearly twice the amount of foals are associated to the Godolphin Arabian than the Darley Arabian. Furthermore, focusing on the modern Thoroughbreds, more bloodlines are related to Curwen's Bay Barb at 4.2% than the Byerly Turk at 3.3%.
This said, we feel very blessed and quite delighted to home one of the most prominent Herod channels of the 20th Century, Tourbillon. Xpedious's sire, Hidalgante's, is Tourbillon's great-great-grand foal. TME is quite excited to home and promote a sire tracing back to the Byerly Turk foundation sire! Herod was a bay horse with a small star and no white on his legs - extremely classic for the Byerly Turk descendants. His strength was the longer 4-mi distances.
Chapter 2: That of the Sire Xpedious schooling as a four year old. Tourbillon became a great breeding success and captured the hearts of many mares and owners in France. He was, in fact, a major top class runner himself. Tourbillon's first success was with Sun Briar, according to Thoroughbred Heritage, who 'earned his reputation' in America, and became the champion two-year-old in 1917.
Timor, 1944 son of Tourbillon x Samya, won the 1mi 3f GII Prix Hocquart, and was sent to Argentina where he sired the undefeated champion Pronto, who ran a total of 3 times.
Practicante, Brazil's 1966 leading sire was a grand racehorse himself. He won only 9 of 29 starts, but became a sire that would intrigue the world for decades. His wins included the San Juan Capistrano Handicap, the San Luis Handicap, the Seneca Handicap of '71, Gran Premio Nacional, Gran Primio Carlos Pellegrini, Gran Permio Jockey Club (US) and the Clasico Miguel Cane. After a career of wins in his home country, he became the successful sire he is remembered decades later for. He headed the sire list in 1978, 1981, and 1982. He has been the leading broodmare sire 1986 to 1989 inclusive. Hidalgante remains one of only four standing sires in Brazil from Practicante. Hidalgante won the GI Gran Premio Internacional Republica Argentina.
Chapter Three: The Dam Xpedious showing an amateur jumper the ropes! As for the dam’s influence into Xpedious' breeding, Ocasiao held 13 starts, with 5 winnings, 3 placings, and 1 showing. Her sire and grandsire, Waldmeister and Wild Risk, trace back to St. Simon who was hot and known to attack grooms and barn cats with no warning. St. Simon's sire, Galopin, was a three-time leading sire, and St. Simon was one of his first “best stocks.” St. Simonwon two races on back-to-back days, the 5f Halnaker Stakes followed by the 6f Maiden Plate, and later won the 7f Princes of Wale’s Nursery Plat by eight lengths against 21 other horses. However, as a three year old, he’d matured and won the 10f Epsom Gold Cup, as well as the 2.5-mile Ascot Gold Cup by 20 lengths. His foal, Rabelais (Waldmeister's great-grand sire) was the French Champion sire, three times.
Waldmeister was a winner of several staying events in France including the 4,000-meter Prix du Cadran – historically France’s most prestigious long-distance race. He then went on to become an excellent sire in Brazil. Wild Risk, maintained a notable stamina influence who is best known in North America as the sire of 1964 Prix du Jockey Club winner *Le Fabuleux, a successful stallion in North America and the broodmare sire of Unbridled.
Chapter 4: The Common Unique Working on a couple dressage moves in to prepare for his first Training Level Event Dressage class. While Xpedioius' pedigree maintains the Nearco line of substance, success (Nearco winning 14 of 14 runnings), and ultimate fame, he brought a new entry not as often seen: Dante, who won 8 of 9 starts, and placed his other. Dante, out of Rosy Legend, was out of the quite influential sire, Dark Ronald of whom a great deal of show jumpers trace back to. Dark Ronald sired the great racehorse Son-in-Law who was notably one of the best and distinguished stayers of all time, and according to Ulbrich’s Peerage of Racehorses, one of the “principal influences for stamina.” Additionally, his pedigree is seen any many of the top 100 show jumpers, especially of Holstein heritage. In 1924 and 1930, Son in Law was the leading sire in Great Britain and Ireland. Some of his top foals include: Foxlaw, Straitlace (winner of Epsom Oaks and Coronation Stakes), Rustom Pasha, Suzerain, and Trimdon.
Chapter 5: The Warmblood Influence Beautiful headshot of Xpedious As for how he influenced the warmblood, his Holstein fames include Cor de la Bryere (outstanding jumping sire), Lord, and Langraf I who were all linebred to him. Additionally, Furioso (sire of 10 olympic contenders and 30 international winners), Beau Pere (jump and eventing sire), Bolero (dressage stallion and foundation sire of a new B-line), and My Babu (racehorse and sire of phenomenal eventers such as JJ Babu who won the gold in the Olympics as well as the Rolex the year before) are all influenced by the always remembered Dark Ronald.
