Melted Caramel TME - MR Unregistered 2009 TB Bay Filly Standing 16.0 hh 0 TBHA Points, 0 HF Points So many attributes make Cara an impeccible small filly, firstly she is a healthy baby twin to her sister Sugar Baby TME. Twin foals result from a double ovulating mare, thus because they come from two different eggs, they are not always the same gender. TME feels blessed to have such horrible news, spread so much joy and happiness through our facility. Cara and Sugar truly provided TME with a new atmosphere. Thoroughbreds twinning rate is a bit higher than most breeds, resting at 8%, but few are healthy and happy, and fewer carried close to full term. Mares are not built to succomb to the stress of nutritionally maintaining twins during a pregnancy, and more often than not, a spontaneous abortion or stillbirth occurs, while the larger of the two foals survives. Cara was born on day 334, and weighed 69 pounds, but quickly gained weight. Cara is a lot stronger than her twin sister Sugar, mentally. She is headstrong, and is a jealous girl hogging attention from everyone. We are caution with who joins her, her sister, and her dam in the stall, seeing as how we don't want super attention to develop vices and snobbiness. We, as management, have reviewed her pedigree time and time again. We think we will wait and take her and her sister out on the track as three year olds in the bumper classes of the SCA Circuit. We are going to let their bodies develop strongly and secruely before putting added pressure on their already precious lives. However, she loves the dirt, and her canter is beautiful along-side her mommy! As for pedigree, Cara decended from TME Young stallion, Knightly Epidemic TME. A barn favorite, but unproven stud, this gallent boy hangs out in the SCA Circuit, and often befriends the yard chickens, goats, and other animals. Knightly Epidemic broke his maiden in early April of 2006, following up with an Allowance win in September. For the remainder of his stakes career as a two year old, he consistantly placed 2nd. He ran all three races of the Triple Crown in 2007, and thereafter was quickly retired to the SCA Circuit where he is much happier, winning a novice GII, first time out. He happily still remains active in the SCA Circuit. Dam Intense Emotion resides with Jade at MVS, and has been an excellent mother, surprizling, to both of her foals! She is the most tender hearted mare ever to pass through the Broodmare Adoption Agency, and we are very happy to have two of her babies residing here with us. |
